GUYS! I liiiive for styled bridal shoots and feel soo so grateful to live in a creative community of bad asses that love to showcase each other’s talents!! I had literally just driven by this location on my way to a different shoot the week prior (& almost crashed taking phone pictures will driving lol!!) because I thought it was so beautiful and knew I wanted to shoot there!! So when Desirae asked me to shoot this magic at that same location I was like “uhm hell YEAAAAH”!!
If you’re an aspiring photog and wanting to get some portfolio work under your belt… I would highly suggest setting up a styled shoot for yourself!! Start building friendships with your local vendors, create a mood board on photoshop from pinterest inspo, draft up a professional email invitation to send out, and post the heckkkkk out of the photos to continually support/tag (and refer) each other after the shoot is all said and done!!
Honestly all you really need is a bride, hair/makeup, dress, flowers, and a good location (but getting cute boho rentals, a calligrapher, an event planner, twinkle lights, and maybe a groom really helps too)!! Don’t get discouraged if it takes awhile for vendors to trust your work before they’ve seen enough to agree to work with you — heck… make the bouquet yourself! Buy the dress from lulus.com! Force your best friend to model for you! Steal your sister’s cute home decor for the flat lays. (I literally did all of those things lol!) Fake it til you make it, girlfriend!!
I really do feel soo so blessed every time someone asks me to work with them, so pleaaaase keep the magical boho dream wedding collabs coming!! (I’ve also started opening up some spots to local photogs to join in on my styled shoots so you don’t have to do any of the planning/prep work!! Check back here for the latest ones to join in on the fun!!)
